Key figures

  • ~250 billion beverage cartons sold globally (2024)
  • Juice, milk and food cartons are on average made of 75% of wood fibres
  • ~95% of renewable energy is used by the industry for the production of beverage cartons

Introducing RECY:CHECK

RECY:CHECK is a new initiative from FBCA that shows how fibre-based composite packaging is genuinely recyclable. Created with help from FBCA members and independent experts, the RECY:CHECK Protocol offers a clear and practical way to assess recyclability, including the PolyAl layer, in specialized recycling mills. It’s all about making packaging more circular and sustainable.
